How to Write A Love Letter

Expressing our feelings of love and affection through words can be really challenging, especially if you grew up in a household where love was expressed in other ways (actions, service, etc.) However, as we get older we might find ourselves in friendships and relationships with people who crave words of affirmation and desire. We need to find a way to give it to them and feel comfortable too. Bonus: expressing love to other people can help us learn to better express love to ourselves.

Aspects of a Good Love Letter

  • Appreciation

  • A Memory

  • An Intention

  • The Closing

We dug our toes into the sand and waiting for fireworks. I don’t even remember what we talked about, I just remember I felt so content and comfortable with you. I knew then and there, I would always remember us like that.

I promise to work on being present even in the small day-to-day moments, especially then. I will be a partner and friend who is dependable and carries equal responsibility. I will continue to be a person you can come to for the hard things in life.
